NEW LIFE

Galatians 2:20(KJV)
20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Getting There Part 2

John 1:38-39(ESV)
38Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?”
39He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.

Getting There

Matthew 11:27-30(ESV)
27All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

The Spirit Intercedes

Romans 8:26-30(NRSV)
26Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes£ with sighs too deep for words.
27And God, £ who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit£ intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. £
28We know that all things work together for good£ for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.
29For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, in order that He might be the firstborn within a large family.
30And those whom He predestined He also called; and those whom He called He also justified; and those whom He justified He also glorified.

Purpose vs. Contentment

Through his prophet Amos, God warned Israel against this type of priority shift. “How terrible it will be for you who sprawl on ivory beds surrounded with luxury, eating the meat of tender lambs and choice calves. You sing idle songs to the sound of the harp, and you fancy yourselves to be great musicians, as King David was. You drink wine by the bowlful, and you perfume yourselves with exotic fragrances, caring nothing at all that your nation is going to ruin” (Amos 6:4-6).

Identified or Simply Interested?

Galatians 2:20(ASV)
20I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
“I have been crucified with Christ …” (Galatians 2:20). The inescapable spiritual need each of us has is the need to sign the death certificate of our sin nature. I must take my emotional opinions and intellectual beliefs and be willing to turn them into a moral verdict against the nature of sin; that is, against any claim I have to my right to myself.

Paul said, “I have been crucified with Christ … .” He did not say, “I have made a determination to imitate Jesus Christ,” or, “I will really make an effort to follow Him”—but—“I have been identified with Him in His death.” Once I reach this moral decision and act on it, all that Christ accomplished for me on the Cross is accomplished in me. My unrestrained commitment of myself to God gives the Holy Spirit the opportunity to grant to me the holiness of Jesus Christ.

“… it is no longer I who live … .” My individuality remains, but my primary motivation for living and the nature that rules me are radically changed. I have the same human body, but the old satanic right to me has been destroyed.

“… and the life which I now live in the flesh,” not the life which I long to live or even pray that I live, but the life I now live in my mortal flesh—the life which others can see, “I live by faith in the Son of God … .” This faith was not Paul’s own faith in Jesus Christ, but the faith the Son God had given to him (see Ephesians 2:8). It is no longer a faith in faith, but a faith that transcends all imaginable limits—a faith that comes only from the Son of God.

In the blog, Holiness! By keeping God’s Word. I stated, If the Holy Spirit lives within us, and we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, then the holiness comes from within, and not from without!!! Christ Keeps Us Holy. We must be a living sacrifice, and a sacrifice for the Lord is made Holy unto the Lord when it is placed on the Alter by the High Priest. Christ is our High Priest!!We must be a living sacrifice, Holy unto the Lord, this is our only worship. This is a faith that comes only from the Son of God.

Holiness! The Fruit of Keeping God’s Word

Psalms 119:9-16(ASV)
9    Wherewith shall a young man cleanse his way?      By taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10    With my whole heart have I sought thee:     Oh let me not wander from thy commandments.
11    Thy word have I laid up in my heart,     That I might not sin against thee.
12    Blessed art thou, O Jehovah:     Teach me thy statutes.
13    With my lips have I declared     All the ordinances of thy mouth.
14    I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies,     As much as in all riches.
15    I will meditate on thy precepts,     And have respect unto thy ways.
16    I will delight myself in thy statutes:      I will not forget thy word.
